Share of total energy used in the IJE factory.

YI-JEONG Industrial (IJE) manufactures propeller shafts and universal joints in Taichung, Taiwan. Today, most of the energy that runs our production lines comes from our own factory roof. Our rooftop solar system has an installed capacity of more than 260 kW, every kilowatt-hour it generates is used on site for production, and green energy now covers more than 60% of the energy our factory uses. We have also completed a greenhouse gas inventory, giving us a measured baseline for further reduction in support of Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero goal.

1,500 m² of roof put to work

More than 1,500 m² of factory roof now generates electricity. That is about the size of 3.5 basketball courts (28 m × 15 m each).

Our path to net zero

1

2024 Energy efficiency upgrades
Inverter air conditioning throughout the facility, motion-sensor faucets and water-efficient restrooms, and an improved airflow design that reduces the need for air conditioning.
2

2025 Rooftop solar system
600+ panels at 445 W, more than 260 kW installed on 1,500+ m² of roof. All power is used for our own production.
3

Done Greenhouse gas inventory
We have completed a carbon inventory of our operations, giving us a measured baseline for every future reduction step.
4

Planned Green equipment upgrade
New CNC mill-turn machines, multi-axis machines, automatic feeders and robotic arms with inverter-driven, energy-saving controls.
5
2050 Toward Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero goal
We will keep raising our share of green energy and cutting emissions across the factory.

What this means for our customers

  • Lower-carbon parts: the majority of the energy used to make your driveshafts and universal joints is green energy.
  • Measured, not estimated: our completed carbon inventory gives a factual basis for supply-chain sustainability questions.
  • A long-term supplier: sustainability investment is part of how we plan to serve OEM and aftermarket customers for decades.
